  • CAD modeling and animation of early concepts

  • MATLAB code to calculate actuator positions based-off angles of lie and z height

  • Actuator design and fabrication

    • Leadscrew driving CNC machined billet carriages riding on support linear rails

    • Designed such that the lead screw is always in tension and the pivot points of the arm inline with the rail axis to avoid moment loading of the carriages

  • Final renders and animation of model

  • Electrical and Software system design

    • Arduino with GRBL getting commands from Universal G Code Sender

“TruLie” - Golf Course Simulator

Senior design team project to create a robotic lie simulator for use inside golf simulators or places like TopGolf.

Three lead screw driven carriages attached to carbon fiber arms supporting a simulated turf mimic the roll & pitch of a golf course. This project was ultimately awarded “Best Overall” for our ME class year.

The stepper controllers, motors, and GRBL flashed Arduino would later be used to power my taig mill CNC conversion.
